When I refer to &quot;good posture&quot;, I&#039;m talking about the posture that I was taught for most of my life by various teachers of dance, yoga, karate, etc.  This is the conventional view of &quot;good posture&quot;, i.e. &quot;suck in the belly, tuck the pelvis, lift the chest.&quot;  When I started to learn the Balance Method, or &quot;Aplomb&quot;, I realized that those instructions actually can CAUSE back pain.
