		<description>Hi Jake,

Yes, if you carry your backpack with both straps on your shoulders, that should help. And, you can change your posture and make a big difference in your pain level. It will also help you to avoid losing height as you age! You can look at some of the other blog posts to learn some healthy posture guidelines. Good luck!

<description>This has been VERY insightful since I&#039;m one of those students who lugs around the said backpacks and often wear it with a single strap on my shoulder D: I decided to look this up because a friend of mine always gives me grief about how I&#039;m going to have a bad back when I&#039;m older, but now I can tell him that it all relates back to out good Ol&#039; American posture...and one other thing (a single strap). I guess I need to correct my posture quickly and stop carrying it around on a single shoulder because I must admit I&#039;ve had subtle back pains in the last year or so. :/ Also, just now I weighed my backpack out of curiosity and it came up as exactly 21 pounds, so it seems that I haven&#039;t been doing any favors for my back.

Thanks for the informative article,
